Responsibilities
Brian Fuller is the Assistant County Administrator. He has oversight for the Department of Community Services, York/Poquoson Social Services and the York County Public Library. The Community Services Department is comprised of the divisions of Children and Family Services, Juvenile Services, Housing and Neighborhood Revitalization, and Parks and Recreation In his capacity as the director, Mr. Fuller also oversees the York-Poquoson Office of Virginia Cooperative Extension.
Mr. Fuller represents the County on various regional boards and committees, including the Olde Towne Medical Center, Colonial Group Home Commission, and Yorktown Foundation. He previously served on the Greater Williamsburg Chamber and Tourism Alliance and Victory YMCA Board of Directors.
About Brian Fuller
Mr. Fuller holds a Bachelor's degree in Parks and Recreation, Leisure Services, and Physical Education from Virginia Wesleyan University (1984), became a Certified Park and Recreation Professional in 1990, and is a 2015 graduate of the Historic Triangle LEAD program. Mr. Fuller completed a Graduate Certificate in Local Government Management through Virginia Tech University in 2017 and in 2019 graduated from the University of Virginia's Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service Leading, Educating, and Developing (LEAD) Program.
Mr. Fuller began working in York County in 1984 as a Recreation Supervisor I. He held the positions of Recreation Supervisor II, Parks and Recreation Manager, Deputy Director of Community Services, and in 2019 was named Director. In August of 2021, Assistant County Administrator responsibilities were added to his current position. He has been an active member of the Virginia Recreation and Park Society (VRPS) and the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) for over 35 years.
