Adoption
Efforts are made by the York-Poquoson Department of Social Service to bring adoptable children together with approved families.

Adult Protective Services
These services protect vulnerable adults from abuse, neglect, or exploitation.

Adult Services Program
Chore, companion, adult day care, and homemaker services help aged and disabled individuals remain in their own homes rather than move to institutions.

Child Care
Learn about day care subsidies so parents can work or train for employment.

Child Protective Services
Reports of child abuse and neglect are investigated or assessed. Services are provided to prevent child abuse and neglect.

Children's Services Act (CSA)
This act provides family assessment and preservation services to at risk families.

Court Services
Court Services provides assessments for child custody and/or visitation by court order only.

Emergency Assistance
Services to provide for temporary emergency needs such as food, rent or utilities.

Family Preservation
Designed to help families who are finding themselves having difficulties with their children.

Foster Care
Foster Care provides temporary care is arranged for children who cannot remain in their own homes.
