Virginia Cooperative Extension – York/Poquoson Office

Empowering Virginians Through Education and Community Engagement

Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE) brings the resources of Virginia Tech and Virginia State University to the people of York and Poquoson. Through research-based programs, our Extension Agents and dedicated volunteers help individuals, families, and organizations find innovative, practical solutions to everyday challenges.

We offer educational programs in three key areas:

  • Agriculture and Natural Resources (ANR) – Supporting sustainable farming, gardening, and environmental stewardship.
  • Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) – Promoting healthy families, nutrition, and financial wellness.
  • 4-H Youth Development – Building leadership, citizenship, and life skills in young people.

Our office delivers programs and outreach through newsletters, workshops, clinics, and volunteer-led initiatives that strengthen our local community.
