If I want to open a new business in a building where an existing or previous business was located, what do I need to do in order to meet the zoning requirements?
First, if no physical changes are proposed to the building or site (such as an addition, modification, or expansion of impervious cover) you must ensure that the proposed building is a permitted use in the zoning district in which the building is located. If the use is permitted you must ensure that the site has the required parking standards for the type of business being proposed.

After all of the zoning requirements have been met, you will need to apply for a business license through the Commissioner of Revenue.
