[ARCHIVED] International Coastal Cleanup Sept. 15

On Saturday September 15 from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., York County will participate in the International Coastal Cleanup ®. This cleanup event, which began over 30 years ago, is made possible by volunteers around the world and we are excited to participate in York County! We encourage our residents to reach out to friends, family, local civic groups, churches and neighbors to join us in this important event to clean up our community areas for ocean conservancy awareness and cleaner water.

As a coastal community, York County is in a prime location for cleanup crews to make a difference in ocean pollution. With many schools, parks and facilities, the Colonial Parkway and the beautiful Yorktown Waterfront area, there are plenty of areas to #teamup2cleanup. It can also be as easy as cleaning up your own neighborhood! The York County Beautification Committee, partnering with the Waste Management/Recycling Facility, will provide citizens with the items and tools needed for a successful cleanup event.

To register for this event, please call (757) 890-3780, e-mail, or complete our online registration.
