Keep America Beautiful organization is once again promoting the Great American Cleanup, and the 2018 theme is "#cleanYOURblock." Supporters are encouraged to organize events, enlist volunteers, and inspire those around them to take part in clean up activities where they live, work, and/or play. To make these events even easier, KAB has provided The Great American Cleanup Volunteer Guide, which takes event organizers through project ideas, steps involved in planning a cleanup event, additional resources, and how to measure project success.
Please contact York County's Beautification Committee/Waste Management (757-890-3780) before your cleanup. We can provide materials, such as bags, gloves, and litter pickup tools, and we will keep track of details, such as number of volunteers, to register with Keep America Beautiful. We'll even collect the bagged debris after the cleanup event, and measure how much litter was removed from York County!
