On Saturday April 28, the York County Beautification Committee partnered with the York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office to bring together a paper shredding event and the DEA's national drug takeback event. The events were a great hit, and both events received many thanks from the attendees. The results of the shredding event are in, and the YCBC collected 6,240 lbs (3.12 tons) of paper, which was then disposed of in an environmentally friendly way. In addition, we collected 332 lbs of food and $30.00 in donations for the Food Bank. YCBC would like to extend their thanks to all who participated.
