Beginning July 11, Public Works will start construction on the Rt. 17 Sidewalk Project, on the east side of Rt. 17 from Battle Road to Ft. Eustis Blvd. The construction window is approximately (4) months. During this time, there will be some inconveniences with construction traffic and minor traffic delays but there will be full access for all emergency vehicles, mail delivery, trash and recycling collections.
This project was planned and designed to improve pedestrian and cycling connectivity. The sidewalk will allow pedestrians to safely travel from Ft. Eustis Blvd. to the Yorktown Library.
