[ARCHIVED] Reaching more Readers with Libby

Still using the OverDrive app? Switch to Libby!

OverDrive app users, changes are coming! The legacy OverDrive app will soon be retired and our digital library will best be enjoyed with the Libby app. You can still use the legacy OverDrive app for now, but we recommend making the switch to Libby. Libby offers the same collection of digital titles from our library, but with new features we know you'll love:

  • Easy start up for new users
  • A unified bookshelf for all your loans and holds
  • Tags to categorize your books
  • Push notifications
  • Support for multiple library cards
  • Preferences to see only the content you like
  • Support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto
  • Wish List syncing across libraries and devices

During the first phase, the legacy OverDrive app will be removed from the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Microsoft Store on February 23, 2022. Existing OverDrive app users will be able to continue browsing, borrowing, and enjoying titles. OverDrive's goal is to have most OverDrive app users migrated to Libby by the end of 2022.

Libby is not currently available from the Amazon App Store. OverDrive has requested information and a timeline for approval from Amazon. In the meantime, Kindle Fire users can stream ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines in their browser from libbyapp.com or your library's OverDrive website. Users can also deliver Kindle Books to a Fire tablet from a device that supports Libby or from libbyapp.com. The OverDrive app will not be removed from the Amazon App Store on February 23, but will continue to be available until further notice.
