[ARCHIVED] Please Throw Gloves and Wipes in the Trash

This is an image of latex gloves

Since the outbreak of the Coronavirus, we have seen an increase in littered materials such as latex gloves and sanitizing wipes in the parking lots of our York County stores.  These items, when used and properly disposed of, can be helpful in promoting cleaner, safer practices in public.  However, when they are thrown on the ground in parking lots, or left in shopping carts to be picked up by wind and rain, they become litter.  Not only does this increase the chances of public contamination, it is also unsafe for our environment, our storm water and our wildlife.  If you choose to use gloves, sanitizing wipes, or any other disposable protective equipment in public, please throw them in the trash after use and help us keep our County beautiful and healthy!
