[ARCHIVED] Shredding Event, DEA Drug Take Back Day Saturday October 26

Drug Take Back and Shred Event

On Saturday October 26 from 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 pm., the York County Beautification Committee will partner with the York County D.A.R.E. office to provide our citizens with an opportunity to shred personal papers, and drop off expired or unneeded prescription pills and patches.  The event will take place at the York-Poquoson D.A.R.E. office at 5338-D George Washington Memorial Highway, Yorktown (in the Washington Square Shopping Center).  Citizens can bring up to five boxes of paperwork, and the Beautification Committee will provide a container to collect plastic bags at this time as well.  Attendees are encouraged to drop off non-perishable canned or boxed food items for donation to the Peninsula Food Bank.

Please contact the Waste Management/Recycling Facility with any questions about the shredding event and food drive at (757) 890-3780.

Please contact the York-Poquoson Sheriff's Office with any questions regarding the Drug Take Back event at (757) 890-3630.
