When will trash and recycling be collected?  Residents whose trash collection day is Friday should place their containers at the roadside by 7 a.m. Saturday morning. This includes already scheduled bulk collections. Because of the Labor Day holiday, recycling collections were already pushed back one day.  Thursday’s collections scheduled for Friday will now be picked up on Saturday; Friday collections scheduled for Saturday will now be collected Monday.  Next week’s customers – Red Week – will see their pick up delayed by one day with collections completed on Saturday, September 14.

I parked my car at the County's park site (the MAC or Chisman Creek Park).  When do I have to move them? The McReynolds Athletic Complex (412 Sports Way) and Chisman Creek Park (1314 Wolf Trap Road) were available for the parking of vehicles, boats, trailers, RVs, etc. We ask that you have your vehicles removed from these locations by mid-day Sunday.

Market Days being held as usual?  Yes, Market Days will be held Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon at Riverwalk Landing.

What facilities are reopening? 

  • The Yorktown Library (both Tabb and Yorktown) reopen at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
  • McReynolds Athletic Complex:  All baseball/softball fields will remain closed Saturday.. At this time, the rest of the complex including the soccer fields will be open Saturday morning. Please check the status by calling the Rainout Line - (757) 890-3501 or by visiting the Rainout Line webpage
  • New Quarter Park, Wolf Trap Park, Kiln Creek Park (with the exception of the baseball/softball field), and Charles Brown Park will reopen Saturday morning.
  • Back Creek Park reopen Saturday morning, however the pier and boardwalk received minor damage and are not open to the public.
