York County recently received four honors in the prestigious IFEA/Haas & Wilkerson Pinnacle Awards Competition, earning recognition in the following categories:
- Gold Award - Best Facebook Site for @VisitYorktown
- Gold Award - Best Event (withing an Exisitng Festival) for the 250th Anniversary of the Yorktown Tea Party
- Bronze Award - Best Instagram Site for Visit Yorktown
- Bronze Award - Best Organizational Website
Kristi Olsen-Hayes, director of York County’s Department of Economic & Tourism Development, shared her excitement about the department’s ongoing accomplishments. “These awards are a reflection of the creativity, dedication, and partnerships that drive our department’s success,” said Olsen-Hayes. “Our events, social media, and website not only attract visitors, but they also strengthen our local economy, celebrate our history, and showcase the best of the region to audiences around the world. To have that impact recognized on an international stage is incredibly rewarding.”
