As a York County’s Grounds Maintenance Operations Superintendent, Landon Prever is responsible for numerous crews of Public Works Grounds Maintenance employees. These crews are responsible for the repair and maintenance of the grounds on York County Roads (in partnership with VDOT), York County Public Schools, the landscape crew responsible for chemical applications and pruning on County-owned property, and the two hybrid crews that handle both Stormwater and Grounds Maintenance. Mr. Prever is also responsible for assisting Parks and Recreation, and Tourism Development during special events/projects at various County sites.
Mr. Prever graduated from Virginia Tech in May 2016 with two Bachelor degrees, Bachelor of Science in Horticulture (majoring in Landscape Contracting) and Bachelor of Science in Crop & Soil Environmental Sciences (majoring in Turfgrass Management.) He started his career with York County in October 2016. Mr. Prever was hired as the Grounds Maintenance Construction Inspector, and served this role for 4 years until his promotion to Superintendent.
