INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

The Department of Information Technology provides support for the Geographic Information System; the centralized computer systems; supports data processing needs of all other divisions and agencies; provides strategic planning of County technology needs; maintains an integrated electronic mail system and maintains and coordinates the Web site for the County.

Adam A. Frisch, PhD, Director of the Department of Information TechnologyAdam A. Frisch, PhD, is the Director of the Department of Information Technology. As director, Dr. Frisch supervises the offices of Network and PC Support, Data Processing, and Geographic Information Systems (Mapping). Information Technology provides the required systems to support the efficient operation of county government and makes government information accessible to its citizens.

Dr. Frisch received his Bachelor’s Degree in Geology from the University of South Florida and his Masters and PhD in Marine Science from the College of William and Mary. He taught field geology in India for UNESCO, after which he worked for the State of Virginia as an Environmental program manager within the Council on the Environment, and then a position in the Department of Environmental Quality. He came to York County in 1994 as the Geographic Information Systems manager and was later promoted to Chief of Computer Support Services, and then Director of the Department of Information Technology.

Timothy Wyatt, Deputy Director of Information TechnologyTimothy Wyatt, Deputy Director of Information Technology provides operational oversight of the Network and PC Support office.  He is actively involved with the implementation and maintenance of all server, network, software, and phone systems.

 

Mr. Wyatt received his Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Old Dominion University in 2004 and is Microsoft MCSE, Cisco CCNA Wireless and Security, and CompTIA A+ and Network+ certified. He began working for York County in 1999 while in high school as part of the Cooperative Office Education program, progressed through as a college intern, Network Administrator, Senior Network Administrator, Network Manager, and now serves at the Deputy Director of Information Technology.
