Tourism plays an integral role in Virginia’s economy, is an economic driver in the Commonwealth and the impact of travel and tourism dollars on Virginia’s economy is significant.
Kristi Olsen-Hayes is the Tourism Development Manager in the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Division. She is directly responsible for increasing awareness of and visitation to historic Yorktown and York County by developing, marketing, managing and implementing programs and events which promote and encourage visitation. Tourism Development objectives include:

Kristi is a native of Yorktown, Virginia specializing in tourism promotion and event planning for York County. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from Radford University, is a 2011 graduate of the Leadership Historic Triangle program and has over 20 years of experience in the travel industry. She was hired in 2002 where she has remained throughout her employment. She is an active member of both the Destination Marketing Association International and the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance.
