New Quarter Park

Come to New Quarter Park

Hello All,

This Week at the Park
  • Friday, October 11:  Wash and Talk Led by Park Interpreter, Sara Lewis, from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Join Sara as she cleans, sorts, and identifies artifacts dating back to the 1700's found right here in New Quarter Park.  You will be fascinated by the many interesting things you will learn from Sara about what these artifacts tell us.

  • Saturday, October 12: Stories by the Fire, hosted by professional storyteller Bill Rose, starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Fire Circle. Bill will be dressed as an old timey sea captain to tell wild tales at sea. If you come early, starting at 6:00 p.m. we will have s'more's ready for you to roast!
Registration Closes Friday for the 2nd Annual Great Pumpkin Hunt!
On Saturday, October 19, at 5:15 p.m., children ages 5-12 can walk down New Quarter Park's trails in search of treats during our 2nd Annual "Great Pumpkin Hunt!"  Participants guided by volunteers will hunt by age groups for hidden plastic pumpkins filled with Halloween-themed gifts. Registered children will receive a gift bag to collect the plastic pumpkins as well as an assortment of candy distributed into each bag and a glow-in-the-dark necklace. NOTE:  Space is limited and registration will close on Friday, October 11.  You can register online at www.yorkcounty.gov/parksandrec for a fee of $5 per child.
