New Quarter Park

Come to New Quarter Park

Hi All,

I hope this finds you enjoying the pleasant change in temperatures we've experienced this week!  Of course, Monday marks the "unofficial" end of summer.  We will undoubtedly have plenty of warm weather to come and will not officially begin fall until September 23.  But Labor Day signals the end of summer vacation for most of our school aged children who will begin the new school year next Tuesday, September 3. Come have fun this weekend at the park, whether to enjoy a walk, a bike ride, or round of disc golf on your own or with family or friends!  Take advantage of the forecasted good weather and enjoy the Great Outdoors this weekend at New Quarter!

Have you tried...?
  • Sunset Kayak Trips - We have three (3) upcoming sunset kayak trips from New Quarter Park on the following dates:
*next Thursday, September 5 (Deadline to register extended until Monday, Sept 2)
*Thursday, September 19 (Deadline to register September 12)
*Thursday, October 3 (Deadline to register September 26)

The trips will meet 90 minutes before sunset.  Staff will cover proper paddling technique and then lead the trip down the tranquil Queens Creek to view the sunset. This is a great beginner kayak trip for participants 13 and older. There are five (5) spots available per trip, at a fee of $30 per person. Participants must be at least 13 years of age and minors must be accompanied by an adult. You can register for the tours at www.yorkcounty.gov/parksandrec.
