York/Poquoson Master Gardeners Annual Plant Sale, Saturday- May 4th

The York/Poquoson Master Gardeners will hold a plant sale on Saturday, May 4th from 8:00am-Noon at the York Learning Garden located at 301 Goodwin Neck Road (adjacent to the York County Public Safety Building).  Annuals, perennials, shrubs and trees and Yorktown Onions will be for sale.  Wagons or carts are welcome!  Cash and checks only, please. A Talk in the Garden returns to the York Learning Garden

The first TALK IN THE GARDEN for 2019 will be at 5:30pm on Thursday, May 16th under the Pergola of the York Learning Garden located at 301 Goodwin Neck Road.  No need to register (except for the children’s activity), just come out, enjoy the garden and gain some knowledge and gardening tips from the York/Poquoson Master Gardeners.

  • May 16th  at 5:30pm – ID and Control of Weeds
  • June 20th at 11:30am – Varmints:  Deer, Rabbits, Voles and Moles
  • July 18th at 5:30pm – Gardening for Life with Native Plants
  • August 15th at 11:30am – Children’s Activity:  Learn about Pollinators and   
        decorate a garden stepping stone to take with you.  For ages 4 and up.   
        Cost is $8 per child.  Register by calling the York/Poquoson Extension
        Office at (757) 890-4940.  Space is limited.
  • September 19th at 5:30pm – Proper Pruning of Crepe Myrtles
Fairies and Friends

Fairies and Friends Day at the Poquoson Learning Garden

Children ages 10 and under and their families are invited to experience the fun of the Poquoson Learning Garden.  This Pollinator educational event will include magical garden activities, face painting, fairy fun with wand making and other crafts.  Wear your wings and costumes!  This FREE event is Saturday, May 18th from 10:00am to 1:00pm at
968 Poquoson Ave., adjacent to the Poquoson Museum.
