Come to New Quarter Park this Weekend
Be sure to mark your calendars for a week from this Saturday! Here are two interesting programs you and yours can enjoy together in the great outdoors next Saturday, February 23!
- Our monthly Bird Walk will take place from 8 to 10 a.m. The walk will be led by the Williamsburg Bird Club and will meet in the main parking lot by the office. Stop by the office to checkout a FREE pair of binoculars.
- Immediately after the Bird Walk is our first Walk and Talk of the year from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. New Quarter Park is home to some very large trees, and one remarkably large tulip poplar has been nominated for the Virginia Registry of Big Trees. During the Walk & Talk, Molly O’Liddy, the Community Forester with the Virginia Department of Forestry, will walk with participants to our “very big tree” and talk about how trees are measured for recognition. New Quarter Park’s big tree is more than 150 years old, which dates back to at least the 1860s!!
