Volunteers Needed for Saturday, Oct. 27 - The Great Pumpkin Hunt Event: We are still seeking volunteers to help us setup for this Saturday’s Pumpkin Hunt and to help monitor the trails when the children are on them. Volunteers are preferred from 2 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Volunteers do not have to work the entire shift and any additional help is appreciated. If interested in volunteering, please call the park office at 757-890-5840 or email Michael Wilcox at Michael.firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you!
Next Saturday, November 3, will be our special Walk and Talk program on “Nature Journaling” from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Lynn Wilson, a Virginia Master Naturalist, will share about this meaningful hobby and lead participants on a walk where they will revel in the sights and sounds of the park on a fall morning. Participants will then spread out within an area to further appreciate their surroundings in solitude and write or sketch their observations. This program is free and necessary materials will be provided. Space is limited, so be sure to register now at www.yorkcounty.gov/ParksandRec.
