Are you interested in helping York County review its long-range development plan? Do you have ideas about land use, transportation, public facilities, housing, economic development, or the environment that you believe would be an asset to the County as we review our Comprehensive Plan? If so, then please consider applying for appointment to the Comprehensive Plan Review Steering Committee.
The Committee will oversee the review process, studying information and data, collecting and reviewing citizen input, and working with staff to develop the County’s updated plan, Charting the Course to 2040. Committee members will be expected to attend monthly meetings as well as several community meetings that will be held to gather public input.
“Citizen involvement is a crucial part of this review process,” said Timothy C. Cross, Deputy Director of the Department of Planning and Development Services. “The formation of this Steering Committee will facilitate the effective flow of information among citizens, stakeholders, and staff.”
The Board of Supervisors will appoint five citizen volunteers – one from each district. The Committee also will include representatives from the Board of Supervisors, Planning Commission, Economic Development Authority, and staff. Work will begin in late summer/early fall 2018 and is expected to continue through the spring of 2020.
