York County Announces End of Curbside Recycling Program September 30


September 24, 2025 

          York County’s curbside recycling program will officially conclude with the termination of the current contract on September 30, 2025.
The County is actively exploring alternative solutions to continue offering curbside recycling services in the future. In the meantime, residents are asked to hold on to their recycling containers until further notice. Additional details and updates will be shared as soon as they are available.
While curbside service is ending, recycling remains available to York County residents through the Recycling Convenience Center at York County Waste Management, located at 145 Goodwin Neck Road. (7 a.m. - 4 p.m., Monday through Saturday.)
           On a temporary basis, James City County will allow the residents of York County to utilize the following convenience centers for drop-off recycling: NOTE: Proper ID will be required.            

York County Residents may use any of the following drop-off centers free of charge:

  • York County Waste Management Center, 145 Goodwin Neck Road Monday – Saturday 7a.m. – 4 p.m.)
  • James City County’s Jolly Pond Convenience Center, 1204 Jolly Pond Road (Sunday-Saturday: 7 a.m.-5 p.m.)
  • James City County’s Toano Convenience Center, 187 Industrial Blvd. (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday: 8 a.m.-4p.m.)
