It's Official….Hurricane Season is Underway
Hurricane season officially began Thursday (6/1) with forecasters predicting that 2023 could see 12 to 17 named storms with five to nine of those becoming major hurricanes. Staying Safe in an Online World
In recognition of June as Internet Safety Month, the Tabb Library is teaming up with the York-Poquoson Sheriff’s Office to offer a special safety presentation on Sunday (6/4) at 1:30 p.m. in Tabb Library (100 Long Green Blvd.). Join Deputy Kevin Taylor, School Resource Officer and a Certified Crime Prevention Specialist, for information about different aspects of staying safe online as well as the do’s and don’ts of using social media. Additional Notes for the Week…The Board of Supervisors meets Tuesday (6/6) at 6 p.m. in the East Room of York Hall. As always, meetings are televised live on WYCG (Cox 46/86HD, and Verizon 38) and livestreamed from the County’s website. The agenda is available online. Also on Tuesday (6/6), the VPPSA Compost Facility, located at the Waste Management Center (145 Goodwin Neck Road), is closed all day. The Compost Facility reopens Wednesday (6/7). All other services at the Waste Management Center are open.
