Come to New Quarter Park
Now that summer is just around the corner, it is the perfect time to get back on the water! York County Parks and Rec will offer several exciting kayaking opportunities! The kayaks are available to use for anyone who is 13 years and older. Don’t know how to operate a kayak? Sign up for the Kayak Clinic (on June 10 at 10 am) or the Sunset Kayak Tour on May 25 starting at 6:45 pm. We will go over instructional operations for using and navigating on the water via kayaks! Pre-registration is required and is on a first come, first serve basis. Do you have your kayak skills down, but don’t know where to explore? Join us on May 27 at Back Creek Park at 9 am for the Goodwin Island Kayak Expedition! We will set out and explore the remote area of Goodwin Island. Be sure to prepare a lunch, snack, and water to take with you on this 5-plus hour trip. Pre-registration is required and is on a first come, first serve basis. NOTE: For weather-related cancellations, please call our RainoutLine at 757-890-3501 and use extension 35 for events, extension 34 for the disc golf course, or extension 33 for trails at New Quarter Park.
