Vintage Market, Tax Bills Mailed, and Kayak Tour

Vintage Market and Car Show on Main St. in Yorktown

Tomorrow (5/13), buckle up, put your car in drive, and head to Historic Yorktown’s Vintage Market and Car Show on Main Street from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. At Riverwalk Landing, shop for upcycled products, collectibles, and old-fashioned objects from several special vintage merchants. Visitors can also purchase seasonal produce, honey, coffee, sweets, and more from returning favorite Yorktown Market Day vendors. Up on Main Street, admire over 20 fully restored classic cars including a 1913 Buick, 1956 Continental, 1990 Chevrolet Corvette, and more! Enjoy musical performances by classic rock-and-rollers The Liberty Dolls and local country singer Evan Young from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Sounds of Summer Concerts Rock Riverwalk Landing Starting June 1!

Yorktown’s free concert series returns Thursdays with the Uptown Band kicking things off on June 1. Concerts are held at the waterfront from 6:30 to 9 p.m. through August 10 (no show July 6) and feature some of the hottest bands in the area! Come out and claim your spot on the grass in front of the performance stage. There’s a dance floor, friendly games of Cornhole, and tasty treats available from food trucks. Blankets or lawn chairs are encouraged for seating and small coolers are permitted. The complete listing of upcoming bands, and information on parking, can be found in this week’s press release.

Tax Bills Have Been Mailed

Real estate and personal property owners don’t have to wait for the Post Office to deliver these bills – e-bills are now available online. Additional information, including online and other payment options, is available on the Treasurer’s website. Payments are due June 25.

Register Now for Upcoming Goodwin Island Kayak Expedition

Start Memorial Day Weekend off with an adventure! On Saturday, May 27, the fun begins at 9 a.m. with a kayak trip to Goodwin Island where participants can explore the land and enjoy the natural beauty. Registration ends May 19 for this fun an exciting kayak experience. Due to the choppy nature of the water in that area, this trip is recommended for those who can swim and have some kayaking ability. Additional Notes for the Week…The next regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors is Tuesday (5/16) at 6 p.m. in York Hall. Presentation of this year’s Outstanding Youth Awards occurs at the start of the meeting. The full agenda is available online.
