This is Hurricane Preparedness Week
The Atlantic Hurricane Season begins June 1, and the time to begin preparing for potential storm impact is now. To help citizens get ready for storm season, the County’s Deputy Coordinator of Emergency Management, Asst. Chief Sean Segerblom, will be presenting helpful tips and best practices at the Yorktown Library on Wednesday, May 17, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. For details, visit the Library’s event calendar. Know what to do before, during and after a storm, and learn about forecasts and alerts. Fire & Life Safety’s website contains helpful information and links to many resources, including Virginia’s Know Your Zone website that residents can use to determine their evacuation zone.
