Arts Commission Now Accepting Grant Applications
Individuals and organizations seeking grants for arts programs that benefit York County residents have until March 8 to apply for a project grant or a challenge grant from the York County Arts Commission. Certain eligibility criteria are required including location, handicap accessibility, benefit to the community, etc. The applications are available online and may be submitted electronically. Funding recommendations are made later this spring and, pending approval by the Board of Supervisors, grants are awarded after July 1. For complete details, see this week’s press release.
Tennis Anyone? Back Creek Park Hosts Lessons and Leagues
Spring Adult Tennis Lessons are being offered for beginner and intermediate level players. Registration is now open for these four-week group lessons held from 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. on select evenings in April and May. Also being offered at Back Creek Park….Spring Adult Coed Double Tennis League. This three-week round-robin style league is held Saturdays, April 22 – May 13, from 9 to 11 a.m. The final week of play will be a double elimination tournament with prizes awarded to the top two teams! Registration begins Monday (2/27). Sign up online on the Parks & Recreation website.
Additional Notes for the Week…Visit Yorktown’s second Winter Market is tomorrow (2/25) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In case of inclement weather, the market moves to the lower level of the parking terrace. The Yorktown Trolley runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., so sit back and enjoy the ride!
