Winter is a great time to visit a museum and admission is free! Put the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown on your list. The special exhibit “Reign and Rebellion” gives you a view of Virginia through the lens of the Stuart monarchy, whose royal foothold impacted and influenced early America and shaped the struggles and determination of those who lived in the colony in the 17th and 18th centuries.
Additional Notes for the Week…Reminder that free curbside Christmas tree pickup begins Monday (1/9) and continues through Friday (1/13). Residents must place their tree at the road by 7 a.m. Monday for collection during the week. Details, including drop-off at the VPPSA Compost Facility, are available online. Artist applications for the Sunday, May 7 “Art at the River” Juried Art Show are due no later than February 1. Artwork accepted includes painting, clay, glass, leather, wood, photography and more.
