The hunt takes place from 6-8 pm. at the parking lot by the New Quarter Park office. Be sure to dress in appropriate layers with a red-light source as we wander the forest at night looking for these beautiful creatures. Saturday, December 17, the annual Holiday Make and Take program (previously held at New Quarter Park) will be held this year at Charles Brown Park. The event will occur inside the Community Building from 10 am to 12 pm. We will have natural materials on hand to make various decorative baskets or wreaths for families to decorate their homes this holiday season. Complimentary refreshments will also be available for your enjoyment. Space is limited. Register online now!
The Grinch has asked New Quarter Park to share his announcement for a children’s holiday party on
Saturday, December 17, down in Who-ville. All participants will enjoy free food, games, crafts, and a movie. The holiday festivities start at 6 pm and end at 9:30 pm. Grinch’s Night Out will be held inside the Community Building at Charles Brown Park. This is a chance for parents to have a date night or do some holiday shopping and kids to have a holiday whobilation. Availability is limited, so register soon!
Do you know what the best activity to do in winter is? The answer is sky-watching! The NASA Langley Sky Watchers are returning to New Quarter Park on
January 14 to show you and your family the stars, galaxies, and planets hovering in the skies above us! The night is viewing fun runs from 6-8 pm; show up any time in between. This event will be free but have limited availability, so online registration is key!
This past summer, York County Parks and Rec brought archery to New Quarter Park. We are now bringing archery back this winter with an indoor range for anyone ten-years-old and up to participate in. You and your family can register to come out and shoot arrows during one of our six 30-minute time blocks. We will have equipment available, for free, for anyone who needs to borrow some. There will be an online registration fee of only $5 per person. Only ten spaces are available in each time block, so register now!
