Concerts Ramp Back Up; Household Collections and
Shredding Events Wind Down

Virginia Symphony

Virginia Symphony Concert Performs Tomorrow at Riverwalk Landing!

A large turnout is anticipated for tomorrow’s (9/3) concert under the stars, featuring the Virginia Symphony in its first show at Riverwalk Landing since 2019!  The Fifes and Drums of York Town perform at 6 p.m. and the Symphony begins at 7:30. Concert-goers are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and/or blankets for seating and to arrive early.  Blue ribbons will be handed out for the most creative picnic set-up before the show.  Parking is available at the Riverwalk Landing parking terrace on Water Street with handicapped parking on the lower level. Additional parking is located throughout town. Please note: the Yorktown Trolley service stops at 5:30 and is not available after the concert. Rhythms Dates

The Rhythm is Gonna Get Ya

Rhythms on the Riverwalk, that is. This fan-favorite concert series kicks off next Thursday (9/8) with The Michael Clark Band. Showtime for each of these free shows is 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Please bring a blanket or lawn chair for seating and claim your favorite spot on the green adjacent to the performance area. This year’s lineup is an impressive mix of country, R&B, jazz, Motown, and bluegrass.  Complete details and upcoming shows can be found on the Visit Yorktown event calendar

Start Fall with a Clean Slate: Disposal Event is Next Saturday

The Household Chemical/Computer Recycling & Paper Shredding event is from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on September 10, at 105 Service Drive (off Goodwin Neck Road). The list of acceptable materials that may be dropped off is available on the Waste Management Center’s website.  Get your home office in order and help protect your identity by bringing up to five boxes of personal papers for on-site shredding. All materials may be dropped off – and shredded – at no cost. The last 2022 collection event in York County is scheduled for Saturday, November 12.
