Portion of Cook Road to Close for Drainage Project; Closure with Marked Detours Begins July 11
June 24, 2022
A York County project to improve the drainage in the Edgehill subdivision will require the closure of Cook Road for several weeks. The temporary closure is expected to begin Monday, July 11.
Cook Road will be closed from Route 17 to Falcon Road. Detours signs will be posted identifying alternate routes for drivers. Access will be maintained to all private entrances within this section of the roadway.
During the closure, crews will replace the existing culvert under Cook Road with two larger culverts that will greatly increase the flow of stormwater drainage. This work is part of the Wormley Creek Drainage Project to help alleviate the drainage issues in the Edgehill subdivision located on the west side of Route 17.
Construction work is dependent upon weather conditions and the schedule is subject to change.
