April 11, 2022
Celebrate the spirit of the Saturday market in Port-Vendres, Yorktown’s sister city since 1990, during this year’s annual Sister Cities French Market, held in conjunction with Yorktown Market Days on Saturday, April 16. Enjoy French music, wine, and featured traditional products. Come taste French crepes, Parisian-style Macarons, chocolates, fresh-baked bread and pastries, and authentic beignets (just to name a few!), and then refresh yourself at the Wine Garden.
A silent auction is planned where visitors will have opportunities to bid on the fine items as they shop the market for produce, baked goods, art, and more.
Yorktown’s farmers market has been serving the Peninsula for more than 15 years and is one of the most unique in Tidewater, offering spectacular views of the York River, a variety of vendors and artists, food trucks, chef cooking demonstrations, and entertainment on select weeks. Markets are held weekly on Saturdays through the end of October, rain or shine, with the exceptions of May 7 and October 1.
Several themed Saturdays include extended hours with additional and safe fun such as live trade demonstrations, educational programming, performances by the Fifes and Drums of York Town, and family photo opportunities. Highlights include but are not limited to, the Pirate Invasion Market, Vintage Market, Fun in the Sun Market, First Responders Markets, Fall Festival, Harvest Festival, and Paws at the River.
Free parking is available at the Riverwalk Landing parking terrace, York Hall, and several other designated public parking lots. The complimentary, wheelchair-accessible Yorktown Trolley begins its service at 10 a.m. on Market Days and makes several stops.
