[ARCHIVED] OverDrive's Big Library Read Returns April 2-16

When life gets your goat, use your library card. Jennifer McGaha’s debut memoir, Flat Broke with Two Goats, has been selected for the next Big Library Read, the world’s largest digital book club. From April 2-16, York County Public Library users will be able to borrow the eBook or audiobook format of the title with no wait lists or holds. Readers can take part in the two-week program by visiting or by downloading the Libby app. Big Library Read is facilitated by OverDrive, the leading platform for eBooks and audiobooks from the library.

Flat Broke with Two Goats is told with bold wit, unflinching honesty and a firm foot in the traditions of Appalachia. A true story that started as a last-ditch effort to settle debts, it transparently reveals the joys and challenges of overcoming unexpected life-altering events. Flat Broke with Two Goats is a fearlessly written memoir that reminds readers to not take themselves too seriously and to always remember to laugh, no matter their situation.

Big Library Read is an international reading program that connects millions of readers around the world simultaneously with an eBook or audiobook through the library. Readers can join an online discussion about the book at The free program runs for two weeks and to get started reading, all that is needed is a York County Public Library card. Flat Broke with Two Goats can be read and listened to on all major computers and devices, including iPhone®, iPad®, Android™ phones and tablets, Chromebook™ and Kindle® [U.S. libraries only] without worrying about wait lists or holds. The title will automatically expire at the end of the lending period, and there are no late fees.
