Join members of the Sisters in Crime group at the Yorktown Library on Saturday, Jan. 20, for The Art of Writing: a free two-part workshop and panel. The event will begin with the "Top Ten Tips for All Writers" workshop, which will run from 10 a.m. to noon. Local authors Jenny Sparks and Jayne Ormerod will present this interactive workshop, with tips that every writer — new and experienced — can use to refresh their writing in the New Year.
Part Two will begin at 2 p.m. with a panel covering "Authors in Your Own Backyard". Panel attendees will learn how and why local authors use actual or fictionalized Virginia settings. Jayne Ormerod will moderate this panel of local authors, including Teresa Inge, Maria Hudgins and Allie Marie.
Registration is required. Patrons can register for one or both events through the library's Events Calendar.
