[ARCHIVED] Digital Magazines moving to our OverDrive Collection

Digital magazines moving to OverDrive on January 28

The York County Public Library will be moving our digital magazines from RBdigital to our OverDrive collection on Thursday, January 28, 2021. You will continue to be able to browse, borrow, and enjoy all the same great magazines you loved in the RBdigital app, now available in the Libby app from OverDrive. If you have already been enjoying the Libby app, there will be no change, other than you may notice even more great titles available for you to borrow.

Our new OverDrive magazine collection has over 3,000 popular titles and up to three years of back issues where available. The collection includes popular titles from leading publishers (Newsweek, US Weekly, Kiplinger's, National Geographic) as well as titles focused on special interests (PC World, Crochet, Bon Appetit, Family Handyman). You'll also find foreign language titles including magazines in Chinese, French, German, Spanish and more.

Magazines will have a 14-day lending period. You'll have the option to renew a magazine within 3 days of the end of the lending period. You can also borrow the magazine again at any time. Magazines will not count toward the checkout limit for OverDrive ebooks and audiobooks.

Getting Started with Libby

Our library is proud to offer you a wide selection of digital magazines for you to access anytime, anywhere through Libby, the one-tap reading app. For those who have not yet tried the Libby app, all you need to get started is your library card number. The Libby app is easy to use and will guide you through the setup process and get you connected to our library in just a few minutes. You can find in-app support, or visit the Help site or Libby Academy within the app for assistance.

If you don't want to use the Libby app, you can use the original OverDrive app or our OverDrive website. These alternatives have the same titles as Libby, but offer slightly different features and device compatibility.

To our RBdigital Magazine Users

After the transfer to OverDrive, RBdigital magazines will continue to be available in the RBdigital app until March 31, 2021. After March 31, you can still access any older issues you borrowed through RBdigital by visiting the Zinio app or website and registering a new Zinio account using the same email address you used with your RBdigital account.

New to digital?

In just a few taps, you can start reading instantly on your phone or tablet. The digital library is available 24/7 without leaving home and is free from our library. Download the Libby app to get started.
