At the Senior Center of York’s 28th anniversary celebration at 1 p.m. on Friday, November 15, the York County Information Technology Department will launch a new virtual reality (VR) program available to Senior Center patrons that includes various relaxing, inspiring, and even exotic travel destinations for participants to “visit” through the VR technology. Destinations consist of cultural museums, European sites, the Moon, underwater adventures, and more!
The public is cordially invited to come and take part in this anniversary celebration and see the VR technology in action on the wide-screen TV installed for viewers not using the VR viewer.
To RSVP for this event and for more information about this program or other activities, please call (757) 890-3444 or visit www.yorkcounty.gov/parksandrec.
The Senior Center was established in 1991 to serve as a central point for senior citizens aged 55 and up to participate in activities in York County. It was created through the efforts of the York County Board of Supervisors and many citizen volunteers and is “home away from home” for its many patrons who enjoy an array of educational, arts, cultural, exercise, and health programs.
The Senior Center is located at 5314 George Washington Memorial Highway in Washington Square Shopping Center.
