The Park Ambassador Program promotes community stewardship and bridges the communication between the community and the Parks and Recreation Division, and sends a message that the community cares about its parks. Through weekly visits to local parks, Ambassadors document maintenance needs, report acts of vandalism, interact with park users, promote park safety, and encourage an overall positive use of public space. Ambassadors must submit online monthly observation reports to Parks and Recreation staff. An orientation training will be set for volunteers. Generally weekly park visits are completed at your leisure, ideally during peak use times by the general public. Observation reports are not necessary weekly unless there is a safety concern. Each visit requires a thorough assessment followed by the completion of a monthly observation report. Age of volunteers: 21 yrs. and up. To volunteer as a Park Ambassador, please select this link.
