New Location for York County Parks and Recreation

New Location for York County Parks and Recreation

York County Parks and Recreation is now located in Washington Square Shopping Center. This new site offers a central location for the County’s citizens with ample parking. The new offices are located in the section of the shopping center adjacent to Grafton Station Lane. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 5 p.m. The phone number remains (757) 890-3500. Visitors to the new site will experience continued excellent customer service including assistance when registering for programs.

The location is close to the new site of the Voter Registration Office, which is just further down the shopping center from Parks and Recreation AND just around the corner from the Senior Center of York. Through the November 5 election, citizens are able to visit the Voter Registration Office at the new location and at the office in historic Yorktown (224 Ballard Street). Voter registration and absentee voting are available at both sites. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

In addition to the Parks and Recreation move, the offices of York-Poquoson Virginia Cooperative Extension are moving next door and will officially open Tuesday, October 15. The office’s current location (100 County Drive) is open until Monday, October 7, when it will close for staff to pack up and move to Washington Square.

For more information about the Parks and Recreation new offices, please call (757) 890-3500; for Cooperative Extension, call (757) 890-4940; and for Voter Registration, contact (757) 890-3440.
