As part of the Virginia Women in History Exhibit, the Tabb Library will host a special program, “A Women’s Right to Vote.” The event will feature a presentation and discussion on the fight for woman’s suffrage from the League of Women Voters of Williamsburg Area. They will also provide information on how to register to vote, as well as run a voter registration drive. The event will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, in the Tabb Library Meeting Room. Registration is not required.
The League of Women Voters is a nationwide nonpartisan political organization encouraging informed and active participation in government at all levels. Virginia Women in History 2019 honoree Lucy Randolph Mason was president of the Richmond League of Women Voters. Today the league still serve as advocates and promotes civic education. The local Williamsburg League has been educating voters and studying issues for over 50 years.
