Title: The 100 by Kass Morgan

I was so excited to finally be able to read this book because I love the spin off tv series “The 100.” This book did not disappoint my expectations. It was hands down my favorite book I have read so far. I think the reason why this book appealed to me so much is not only because it has a spin-off, but because I was so eager to hear the story be told by all the characters' own points of views. Each chapter was told by one of the main characters, bringing up flashbacks and jaw dropping moments that you would not expect to happen.

Title: The Downstairs Girl by Stacey Lee

The Downstairs Girl book coverThe Downstairs Girl by Stacy Lee is a fantastic historical fiction novel with mystery, intrigue, romance, teenage relatability, and of course, history from a unique viewpoint. I especially loved this book because it portrayed a teenage girl in a relatable way, but in a completely different world from what I am used to today. The main character, Jo Kuan, underwent trials and tribulations to the point where it felt, as a reader, that it couldn’t get much worse. However, as the first half of the novel containing her problems ended and solutions started to emerge, I realized the first half helped me to develop a deep emotional connection to Jo.
