Register your whole family for York County Public Library's inaugural Winter Reading Challenge. The challenge runs from January 1-31, 2021. Readers will be challenged to read at least 5 hours in order to work toward the library community reading goal of 1,000 hours.

Pre-registration starts December 14. Access the Beanstack challenge site to register an individual or family. If you've previously enrolled in our summer reading challenge on Beanstack, log in using the same account information. If you don't remember your account information, select "Recover password" or "Recover username."

Everyone who completes the challenge by reading 5 hours will earn a completion certificate and small gift.

Participants will also be entered to win one of our Grand Prizes. Drawings will be held on February 1, 2021. Grand Prizes include a Kindle Fire HD 8 and a "Beat the Winter Blues" fun pack.

The final day to pick up completion certificates and prizes will be February 10, 2021.

More information

The library is participating as part of Zoobean’s Annual Winter Reading Challenge, which is sponsored this year by publisher Simon & Schuster. This year’s theme is “Books Like Us”—a celebration of diversity, harnessing the transformative power of seeing oneself reflected in a book. All U.S. libraries and schools are eligible to join the challenge via Beanstack with their communities and read to try and win some amazing prizes provided by Simon & Schuster.

This program is made possible in part through the generous support of our sponsor: the York County Library Foundation.
