2022 Summer Reading Challenge

Dive into Oceans of Possibilities with York County Public Library! Our summer reading challenge runs from July 5 to August 13, 2022. Registration opens June 28, 2022, and you can register anytime between June 28 and August 13, 2022.

Challenge Details

All ages are welcome to participate. Our community reading goal is to read 5,000 hours by or before August 13, 2022. Keep track of your reading through the library's Beanstack site or the Beanstack app. Don’t forget to visit the library to participate in all of the fantastic fun we’re planning. 

Registration 

Beginning June 28, you can access the Beanstack site to register an individual or family. If you've previously enrolled in one of our reading challenges on Beanstack, log in using the same account information. If you don't remember your account information, select "Sign In" then "Forgot Your Username" or "Forgot Your Password." You can also participate through the free Beanstack Tracker app available in the Apple App Store or Google Play. Search for "York County Public Library" as your site and then login with your username and password.

Prizes 

Youth
Completion Goal: 4 hours 
Youth participants can come to the Tabb Library or Grafton Annex each week to receive a treasure chest prize. Participants will also receive free books for reaching the 2-hour and 4-hour milestones. Youth readers will earn Beanstack raffle tickets after reaching reading milestones. Tickets can be entered into a chance to win one of our prize packs at the end of the summer. 

Adults 
Completion Goal: 10 hours
Adult participants who read at least 60 minutes a week will be automatically entered into our weekly gift card drawings. A winner will be drawn each Friday. Adults that read at least 10 hours during the program will win a free book. 

Library Events

Tabb Library will be offering a sea of weekly and special programs for all ages, including story times, summer science, kids Zumba, a Teen Tie Dye Party, and more. The Grafton Annex will be offering weekly preschool/elementary school take-home kits, as well as a teen take-home kit and weeklong Chalk the Walk challenge the week of July 25.
