York County Central Purchasing exists to ensure that the public can have confidence in the County's procurement of goods and services. Our policies and procedures:
- provide for fair and equitable treatment of all persons involved in public purchasing by the County,
- maximize the purchasing value of public funds,
- foster competition in the procurement process to the maximum feasible extent, and
- achieve a process that provides quality and integrity for the County.
Central Purchasing is a member of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing (NIGP), the Virginia Association of Governmental Purchasing (VAGP), the Southeastern Virginia Governmental Purchasing Cooperative (SVGPC), and the Southeastern Virginia Public Fleet Consortium (SVPFC).
Note that public solicitations for the County of York and the York County School Division (YCSD) are published on Virginia's e-Procurement Portal found here:

Interested parties are encouraged to visit the eVA site on a regular basis as the York County Central Purchasing Office does not provide notification of changes to the original solicitation documents. Because solicitations are available on the internet to be downloaded and printed for free, the York County's Central Purchasing Office does not maintain plan holder lists.
