Staff Promotions


We are excited to share that Carlie Hodges is now in the role of Family Services Specialist III; she recently joined the Child Welfare team under Ronnette Arthur as of September 12. Carlie joined York-Poquoson DSS in January 2022 as a Family Support Specialist. We are all excited about her promotion within the agency!


We are pleased to announce the promotion of Lisa Bullock as our new Self-Sufficiency Specialist II. Lisa's new position is on the Self-Sufficiency Team under Marcus Anthony. Lisa joined York-Poquoson DSS seven years ago; her Social Services career began with the City of Norfolk and Newport News Department of Human Services. Lisa has earned a Bachelor's in Human Services and is currently attending the Emerging Leader's Program with York County. We are excited about her new role with our agency!

Anderlene Winchester - Social Services (002)
Please join us in congratulating our most recently promoted employee - Anderlene (Andy) Winchester; Andy is our new Benefit Program Specialist I.  Andy began in her new position on April 25, 2022 working  on the Benefits Team under Brooke Wright; her journey began with York-Poquoson DSS in November 2019 as an Administrative Program Assistant I.  Andy brings with her highly sought after organizational skills – and great customer service skills.  Join us in congratulating and welcoming Andy to this new role!

We would like to congratulate Dolapo Yesufu! Dolapo is our new Family Services Specialist I.  Dolapo’s first day in his new position was March 28, 2022; he joined our Adult Services Team under Stephanie Edwards. Dolapo Yesufu graduated from Ogun State University, Nigeria with a Bachelor’s in History.  He joined York-Poquoson DSS one year ago. Dolapo brings 11 years of experience. He has worked as an Administrative Assistant, as well as in Engineering Project Management, the Community/Civic Services field, and most recently, as a Human Services Assistant.  

Eunice Jordan - Social Services

We are thrilled to announce that Eunice Jordan was promoted to Benefits Program Supervisor. Eunice joined York-Poquoson DSS 8 years ago. Her Social Services career began with Gloucester DSS and the Newport News Department of Human Services. Eunice brings 17 years of experience and we are excited about her supervisory role with our agency.


We are excited to announce that Jennifer Bolden is now our Assistant Director of Social Services – Adult and Children Services. Jennifer has extensive experience in Social Work – just shy of 15 years! She has continued to grow as a leader in the agency. Jennifer has shown great commitment in her first 10 years here at YPDSS. She ascended the ladder of success as a FSS III, then as a Family Services Supervisor and now as an Assistant Director. We are a better agency because of her leadership.

Sara Mills - Social Services

We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Sara Mills as our a Family Services Specialist III. Sara joined York-Poquoson DSS 13 years ago. She has accomplished great things along the way. In 2008 she received a Bachelor of Social Work, and in 2019 she earned her Master's in Social Work. Sara was awarded a spot in the 2022 Emerging Leaders Academy with York County. We are excited about her new role with our agency and look forward to many more years to come.

Stephanie Edwards - Social Services

We are excited to announce the promotion of Stephanie Edwards as our Adult Family Services Supervisor! Stephanie has a Master’s Degree in Gerontology from VCU.  She joined York-Poquoson DSS 10 years ago. Her Social Services career began with Franklin DSS and the Newport News Department of Human Services.  Stephanie brings 23 years of experience, and she will be an excellent leader for our Adult Services team!

Claire Friedmann - Social Services

Claire Friedman worked diligently to earn her promotion to Family Services Specialist III.  Claire brings to her new position 4 years' of direct experience (MSW) with Social Work.  In her tenure with YPDSS, she has climbed the career ladder rapidly - from a Family Services Specialist I to a Family Services Specialist II - and we know she will excel in her new role as a FSS III.

We are delighted to announce that Tedra Collins has been promoted to Administrative Services Manager. Tedra brings to a wealth of knowledge and experience to her new position. She has 17 years of experience in the Administrative Services field; 15 years’ of that experience is in local Social Services agencies. Tedra has exhibited tremendous career growth – she has previous experience as an Admin Coordinator I, Admin Coordinator II, Admin Office Manager, and as an Administrative Services Manager as well. We are fortunate to have Tedra as a leader on our Admin Team.
