Real Estate Assessment Goes Electric!

York County’s Real Estate Assessment Office is the first of the County’s organizations to have a plug-in electric vehicle added to its fleet.  The 2017 Chevy Volt is a fuel-efficient hybrid vehicle, boasting around 50 mpg on average when utilizing the internal combustion engine.  When in full EV mode, the powertrain allows it to run on the rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which is designed to last at least 10 years.  Another notable feature of the Volt is its 45- 50 mile range on full electric between charges (making it best in its class for plugin hybrid vehicles.)  For typical, local trips, the Assessor’s Office may not even need to use any gas at all!  One of the most impressive (and surprising) features of this car is how quiet it is, as the electric platform produces very little sound, even during the initial start.

Fleet Manager Joshua Green provides information to the Real Estate Assessment Office on the electric features specific to the Chevy Volt.  It drives like any other car, but contains some exciting features only included in electric vehicles.
