The Digges House was built in 1775. Its first owner, Dudley Digges, was
an attorney who also served as a member of the Colonial Legislature for 25 years.
It is one of the few remaining colonial frame structures in Yorktown, and still
bears the scars from 1781 on its inner timbers. The house is presently owned by the
National Park Service and is maintained as a residence.
