ARCHER COTTAGE

The original "Archer Cottage" was built in the early 1700's and destroyed by a fire in 1814 that wiped out the entire section of "Yorke Towne Below the Hill." Although many of the buildings were rebuilt, the Archer Cottage is the only one of those buildings that remains today. The ballast stone cellar and exterior chimney are from the original structure.
