VICTIMS' RIGHTS WEEK
ACTIVITIES 2008
Throughout the community, Victim/Witness Assistance
Programs and other victims' services agencies have planned numerous activities and events in honor of victims of
crime and National Crime Victims’ Rights Week:
- COMMUNITY EVENTS.
Be on the lookout for victims’
rights activities during the week of April 13th.
- Wednesday,
April 16, 2008, there will be a program held at the Virginia
Air and Space Museum at 6:30PM. it is free and open to the
public.
- Wednesday,
April 16, 2008, Virginia Sexual and Domestic Violence Action
Alliance will have an Open House in Richmond from 4-6PM.
- Friday, April
18, 2008, there will be a benefit for the Center for Sexual
Assault Survivors co-sponsored by the Hampton Victim-Witness
Assistance Program.
- Monday, April
21, 2008, our program is co-sponsoring a training on
Virginia's Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund from 9:30-11:30AM
at Tabb Library. This is free, but registration is required.
- DISPLAY & RESOURCE TABLE.
Our program will sponsor
an information and resource table in the York-Poquoson Courthouse
throughout the week of April 13-18.
- OTHER RELATED ACTIVITIES. In addition to being the
month in which National Crime Victim’s Rights Week is recognized,
April is
also Child Abuse Prevention month. Please wear a blue ribbon
as a reminder that our children are our most precious resource.
On Wednesday, April 16, 2003, staff members will be
participating in a fund-raising luncheon co-sponsored by the
York-Poquoson Child Advocacy Team and Prevent Child Abuse Hampton
