HELP WITH MEDICAL EXPENSES, COUNSELING AND/OR LOST WAGES
[Back]

Sexual assault can be a devastating crime. Victims may have medical expenses as a result of the assault, and may have missed work during their recovery. In addition, many individuals who have suffered a sexual assault seek counseling to help them deal with the trauma they experienced as a result of the crime. As a victim of crime, sexual assault survivors can file a claim with the Criminal Injuries Compensation Fund. If their claim is awarded, they may eligible to receive lost wages, and to have their out-of-pocket medical and counseling expenses paid by the Fund. For more information, see THE RIGHT TO FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, or call your local Victim-Witness Assistance Program.
