THE RIGHT TO BE REASONABLY PROTECTED FROM THE DEFENDANT
[Back]

1. Victim-Witness Assistance Programs can give information regarding the level of physical protection that may be available to you, including how to petition for a protective order, if applicable, how to file additional warrants, if necessary, and if ‘no contact’ orders are possible.

2. Victim-Witness Assistance Programs can also provide separate waiting areas while court is in session and/or arrange a police escort after court, if necessary.

3. Victim-Witness Assistance Programs may also be able to assist you in registering with the local police department, sheriff’s office, or jail to receive notification if a prisoner escapes, changes his or her name, is transferred, is discharged, or is released from jail.  To access forms for requesting notification, go to FORMS.
